Work on bilinguals who act as family interpreters, while not focused particularly on the development of translation and interpreting abilities, contributes to our understanding of life experiences of the individuals who begin to interpret early in their lives (Valdés and Angelelli 2003). After a brief presentation describing the main traits of the literary Romanian exile, this article aims to reveal some aspects of Matei Vişniec’s poetical originality, a Romanian francophone writer who defines himself as a «lucky exiled man». The poem we’ve chosen, «At the table with Marx» («La masă cu Marx»), involves the main line of the book with the same title that was published in Romania in 2011. Se trata de un fenómeno terrible de experimentar que aleja a las personas de su tierra, familia, creencias y lengua, produciendo un trauma en el sujeto que lo vive. El éxodo de una gran parte de la población española durante la Guerra Civil constituye la primera migración de importancia del siglo XX en Europa.
